Cold Chain: Storing Peptides Before and After Reconstitution

Peptides are thermally sensitive molecules, and the rules change the moment you add solvent.

Lyophilized (dry powder)

Store at −4 °F (−20 °C) long-term for most peptides; a standard refrigerator at 36–46 °F (2–8 °C) is fine for short-term holds of several weeks. Keep vials dry, upright, and light-protected. A foam-insulated container inside the freezer protects against temperature swings when the freezer is opened.

Reconstituted

Once in solution, peptides degrade fastest at room temperature. Keep reconstituted vials in the refrigerator at 36–46 °F (2–8 °C) and plan to use them within about 28 days. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles once reconstituted — freezing can damage both the preservative matrix and the peptide itself.

Transit and receiving

Keltris ships lyophilized peptides at ambient temperatures because the dry powder is stable for days without cold-chain. Once received, move them into refrigeration or deep-freeze storage within 48 hours for best long-term integrity.
